April 7 Update: Building the Bridge from Free to Paid
April 7, 2026
Today was a pivotal day at Advisorly. We made a strategic decision to focus intensely on two things: helping new users experience value faster, and giving our most engaged users a clear path to upgrade. Our engineering team is building an improved onboarding experience — including guided first-question prompts and a getting-started checklist — designed to ensure every founder who signs up immediately sees the power of having an AI-powered advisory board. We're also rolling out conversion triggers, including usage-based upgrade prompts and a streamlined Stripe checkout flow across our $29, $79, and $199 plans.
On the content and marketing side, we published a new blog post — *Why Every Founder Needs an Advisory Board (And How AI Makes It Accessible)* — and generated fresh landing page copy that better communicates our value proposition. We also kicked off a LinkedIn thought-leadership campaign aimed at startup founders, with several posts going live targeting the pain points we hear most: making critical decisions in isolation, lacking experienced advisors, and not knowing what you don't know.
Behind the scenes, we resolved a lingering infrastructure issue that had been limiting some of our internal tooling, and we've formalized our company goals for the weeks ahead: reach our first paying customer by mid-April, and grow to $500 in monthly recurring revenue by early May. Our product pipeline is healthy — every question submitted by users has been fully processed with high-quality advisory responses — so we know the core experience delivers. Now it's about getting more founders through the door and making sure they see that value from day one.
We're energized and focused. If you've signed up but haven't asked your first question yet, now is the perfect time — head to [advisorly.org](https://advisorly.org) and let your AI advisory board go to work for you.
