This policy explains what Advisorly ("we", "us") collects, why, and what you can do about it. We try to collect only what we need to run the Service well, and to be straight with you about it.
1. What we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, password (stored hashed), and billing details needed to manage your subscription. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor, we don't store full card numbers.
Decision content. The decisions you describe, the context you provide, and the breakdowns we generate for you. This is the heart of the Service, and we treat it accordingly.
Usage & analytics. How you interact with the Service, pages viewed, features used, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Marketing & communications. If you sign up for guides or our newsletter, or contact us, we keep your email and the messages you send so we can respond and, where you've opted in, send you relevant updates.
2. How we use it
- To provide and operate the Service, including generating decision breakdowns and saving your decision history.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent fraud.
- To improve the Service, understanding what's useful, fixing what isn't, and developing new features.
- To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and (where you've opted in) marketing.
- To meet legal, security, and compliance obligations.
3. Third parties we share with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it with service providers who help us run Advisorly, under contracts that limit how they may use it:
- Stripepayment processing and subscription billing.
- ConvertKitemail delivery for guides and newsletters.
- Google Analytics (GA4) & Metausage analytics and advertising measurement.
- AI providerswe send the content of your decisions to large-language-model providers to generate breakdowns. We work with providers that contractually commit not to use submitted content to train their general models.
We may also disclose data where required by law, to protect our rights and users, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
4. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage. Some are essential to the Service; others (such as analytics and advertising cookies) are optional and used in line with the choices available to you. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some may affect how the Service works.
5. Your data rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent for marketing at any time. You can manage most account data directly, unsubscribe from marketing via the link in any email, and reach us for anything else. We'll respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After you close your account, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain it for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
